Our Mission

Helping you improve your pain and function so you can enjoy life.

Multidisciplinary approach.

A team approach in the Mount Sinai Hospital Rapid Assessment Clinic (RAC), including meeting with an advanced practice physiotherapist, reduces wait times and ensures timely attention to your knee and hip complaints.

Your assessment will include questions about your joint pain/function, a thorough physical examination, and review of x-rays. Additional tests may be required, particularly for patients seeking a second opinion regarding a previous joint replacement.

A personalized treatment plan will be developed using a shared decision-making model, and may include non-surgical/conservative treatment (physiotherapy, activity modification, weight loss, non-narcotic pain medications) or surgery.

Rapid recovery joint replacement.

Our goal is to get you back to health as quickly and safely as possible.

Outpatient (same day discharge) joint replacement.

Outpatient joint replacement involves a multidisciplinary approach using careful patient selection, patient education, improved pain and nausea control, early mobilization, and the active involvement of caregivers at home to ensure safe discharge on the same day of surgery.
